Leilani's 1/2 birthday

Today was Lani's 1/2 birthday party. We celebrated her 1/2 birthday because on her actual birthday she was sick, and sick for the next 5 months. We are so thankful to have her back and healthy (after hospitalization, and several procedures)! We celebrated at Jumping Jacks, and the girls had a blast!

I cannot even begin to tell you what a great family Lani has (of course we knew her mom and dad were great, but everyone else is as well). They knew who Rubie was when they spotted her in the parking lot! Lani's grandma (Grandy), said she has a picture of Rubie, and made sure Rubie was having a good time throughout the whole party! When passing out cake, she made sure Rubie had her cake before all of the other kids. They are an amazing family, and Leilani is one lucky little girl (though, they are lucky, too). Here are some pictures from the day...

nightmares?

Lately, Rubie has not been wanting to go to bed (and by "not been wanting" I mean - kicking and screaming). We figured out that she had a nightmare about the trash man (we heard the nightmare, and she kept saying "trashman"). It has been several days now, and she won't go to bed at night or take a nap without a tantrum. I'm open to suggestions. Help, please. Here are some pictures from today...

Here she is playing patty cake with her dad...

Racing

Last night, we went to see dad race.

Go, Dad, Go!

um.....dad....the race is that way.....what happened?

Oh, good, back in the right direction - and he beat out the blue car at the last second...

Good race, dad finished 5th (out of 5)....just kidding

Dance Thursdays

Every Thursday, auntie Elle comes over with her big jewelry. The first thing Rubie does is give her a once over to figure out what she can take. This week it was the watch...

Frenchie gets very excited about the television viewing selections. We watch So You Think You Can Dance (where the host has the most crooked face I have ever seen), and this other show on MTV with little dancing gangs (complete with individualized hand signs). I can't remember the name of it right now, but the commentary from 'Lil Mama makes the show.

Where does the time go?

I can't believe how big she is...

When I came home from work yesterday,

this is what was waiting for me...

30 lbs.

My little Rubie has been 30 pounds for the last 7 months. She is growing taller, and stretching out. Where did the baby legs go?

Leavin...

So, I came out of the shower yesterday, and this is what I found. I asked Rubie where she was going with all of her stuff (her bags were packed, afterall), and she said she was going to see Catie. Darn you Jennifer for moving so far away...

Notice she has all of the things most important to her - her baby (baby Allison), the baby's crib, her Elmo medical kit, and her dog in the dog carrier.

Blakie...

Hi, dad...

The girl loves jumpers...

She does not, however, love pinatas - I only got a few pictures before she decided it was too violent, and we had to leave the area...

Here is Rubie with her one, lonely sucker from the pinata (uncle Rodger grabbed it for her before we had to leave the area)...

Hims knock me down...

If you ask Rubie about the ocean, that is what she will tell you (referring to the waves). Right after the wave knocked her down, she said that she didn't like the beach anymore - but changed her mind a few minutes later.

She doesn't get to eat a lot of junk food, so once she got ahold of this bag, she declared her love and wouldn't let go...
