10 years of Ramon

This month marks 10 years of Ramon and I together. We have only been married for 6, but we dated for 4 years before we got married (in which Ramon broke up with me several times. If we were friends at the time, I'm sure you remember the broken mess that was left of me - I can laugh at it now, sorry, Elle). I knew when I met him that he would be the best husband and father ever, and I was right. These ten years flew by, and I can't wait to see what happens next. I love you, Ramon...

She tells the best stories.

Sometimes I video tape them, but this time I just took some pictures as she was telling her story...

Need a nap - Potter girls came over...

Miley and Irelyn came over for a visit today. As usual, they were full of energy and didn't slow down for a second...

We tried the basket.....wasn't happening...

The wagon made the girls much happier...

Palm Springs

Ramon and I took Rubie to Palm Springs for a little family vacation. The resort that I chose had water slides, a lazy river, a sand beach, and a huge pool - so I knew Rubie would have fun. I didn't know that Ramon was going to surprise me with a facial and massage - it was wonderful! Here is Rubie when we arrived, and she went out onto our balcony...

I only took a few pictures before I took the camera back to our room so that I could jump in...

Look, look! I do exist! Nice forced smile, Rubie...

Oh my gosh - 2 pictures of me? 2 pictures of me with pool hair?...

When we weren't in the water, Rubie spent a lot of time here...waiting...

Father's Day 2009

I asked Rubie to tell me something about her daddy - and this is what she said...

Here it is framed...

Henry the Octopus

Henry came over to play the other day. I can't believe that he is so big (18 months)! When did that happen?

Dancing Beauties

Rubie started her second dance class, only this time with Leilani. Here are the girls waiting to go inside...

They listened very well. The instructor says that she doesn't discipline. She will send naughty kids outside for us to deal with. Kelli and I made a deal - the first one out has to buy dinner, but the girls were surprisingly good. Let's hope they keep it up!

After the class we stopped for pictures...

Please notice the details in this picture. One child is out of control (as usual), and the other is subtly flipping the bird. hmmmm....I think we are in trouble...

Umbrella

A while ago at Rubie's school they had "bring a rainy day item to share day" and one of the children brought an umbrella (of course). After that, all Rubie talked about was umbrellas. She wanted one. bad. Ramon and I knew this would not be good - so we avoided the subject. Damn the Walmart. They had an Ariel one for 6 bucks right in Rubie's line of sight. Rubie LOVED it. She twirled, and sang, and danced with her umbrella.......for then entire 24 hours that she had it. It now sits at the top of our closet, where it will stay until it is actually raining. Turns out chasing the dog with an umbrella, hitting the dog with an umbrella, and opening the umbrella in the house will put the umbrella in time out UNTIL.NEXT.YEAR.

Now, all she has is a picture to remember the good times...

Roller Skates

Rubie got her first pair of over the shoes - roller skates. She was so excited! It was pretty bad at first - I hadn't seen anything like that since watching uncle Russ roller skate. But lucky for him, Rubie got better, so he keeps his title as The Worst Roller Skater in the World (seriously, I have never seen a grown man so uncoordinated). heh.

When I showed Rubie these pictures, I asked her what she was doing, and she said, "Skating with roller coasters."

Zoo

On Thursday, Rubie and I went to the Los Angeles Zoo. The sea lions were her favorite. She is really into fish and sea life right now. I think another trip to the acquarium is in our future.

Why can't little girls stay 3 forever?

Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened. -Dr. Seuss

This tutu is the best $20 I have ever spent (free shipping in June). It's from www.tutugirlz.etsy.com and I have a feeling she will be wearing it every day.
