Happy Mother's Day!

For Mother's Day, Rubie got me a new flash for my camera. I usually hate the flash, so this is new territory for me, but so far it is amazing! I have some shadow issues to work out, but I will figure it out in time.

I still cannot believe how much Rubie has changed my life. I can't imagine life without her - she is amazing already, with her big, big, big personality. I feel so lucky to be a part of her life and watch her grow up...

others

I like the colors in the background of this one....

This one was for my photography class. The assignment was to make something stop...

cheese

Today I asked Rubie if she loves her mommy. Her response -
"yeah........I love cheese."

This first picture is my favorite - there's something about hair bows and Mary Janes that just say "little girl" to me...

picnic in the backyard...

Friday afternoon, we decided to have a picnic in the backyard (complete with snacks)

Apparently, Rubie likes picnics...

As we all know, Rubie is a daddy's girl...

Time for hair and make-up...

adoption day

It has been one year since Rubie's adoption was finalized. To celebrate, we took her to the Happiest Place on Earth for the first time. I don't think she liked it all that much. She is very sensitive when it comes to any sort of violence. She recently saw Goofy get his butt stuck in a tuba on a cartoon and cried. She didn't like rides that were dark or loud or scary in any way. So that left us with Dumbo and the carousel. Maybe we will try again next year.

Ramon took this one (that's why it's out of focus =)
