Storyboards

Today I figured out how to make storyboards, and now I am in love. Expect to see a lot of them. Don't know why.

Life with Rubie is very interesting...

For example, it is very interesting when she decides to do her own hair...

She also likes to share interesting "facts" from preschool. Yesterday, I learned that jelly beans can sting your foot, and a kid wore Madagascar chonies (in that order).

This is a game we played to practice her first sight words. I hung them up on her wall...

I turned off the lights and we hopped into her bed. Then I would tell her a word and she would have to find it with the flashlight. She LOVED it.

Bug Soup

Today, we taught Rubie how to sort by color and by shape. She caught on right away...


After sorting, she made bug soup...

She insisted we try it...

LA County Fair 2009

Today was the opening day of the LA County Fair, and admission was only a dollar, so we decided to try it out. Weather.com said it was only supposed to be 93 degrees - sounds nice right? Well, if by 93, they meant 104 - then they were close to accurate. Here is Henry with his new hair cut...

Uncle Joe took Henry and Rubie on a ride...


Rubie was not happy when this picture was taken because she wanted to sit by Henry. There were even tears involved (if you look closely, you can see one rolling down her face). Fortunately, it was short lived once she realized that she could turn around and touch the pirate's booty. yep, she did...

I picked out these glasses for Uncle Joe. He looks very "bad cop"...

Then, we stopped by the photo exhibit to see my photos hanging on the wall. Very exciting!

The other day, Rubie told me that she loves me more than pink.

So, I told her that I love her more than cupcakes...


Today, we went to an American Legion picnic up in Glen Helen. It was hot. Enough said...
