What is Healthy?

At Rubie's preschool they love to ask the kids questions and write down their responses. I always enjoy seeing what they have to say. Today topic was, "What is healthy?" I love the kid that said, "our bottoms," because really, bathroom humor is always a crowd pleaser. I also love little McKayla's response - "um...candy." Sounds like something my sister would say (the one that thinks salsa is in the vegetable category - Jennifer)...

Farther down the list is Rubie's response. Not only is it insightful, it is also the idea of the little girl above her. That's my little copying genius. We need to have the talk about only copying people that make sense...

Snowman Ornament

Rubie and I made this ornament today. I painted her hand, made her grab the ornament, and then added the accessories when it dried.

Henry's Birthday Party

Little Henry's first birthday party was today. It was a great pirate, sea life, 4th of July themed party with a Spider Man jumper (nice work, Savoeun). Henry may look confused by all of those themes, but he had a great time...

This is his cousin Grace...

He wasn't very interested in presents or cake...

But, he was very interested in this Oh Henry candy bar that someone gave him...

Rubie had a good time, too...

A Writer's Reference

Auntie Elle came over on Friday night, and we noticed this...

Um...why is the Writer's Reference book in her baby stroller? Is she doing a little light reading? Has she moved on from Dr. Seuss? Or, is she going to fix all of the grammatical injustices in the world? Let's start with her favorite, "No, I doesn't."

Today, I was doing my hair, and Rubie was keeping me company. She told me that I need a Cinderella bath tub - apparently, mine isn't good enough. Then, she measured it with her bracelet (for the remodel), and told me it was 500...

Gingerbread Men

Rubie was very excited to help make and decorate gingerbread men...

um...no apron, bad idea...

Cookie cutter bracelet...

Fresh out of the oven...

After we finished rolling, cutting, and baking, the dress went straight into the washing machine. This is what I found in the hallway...

The next day, Rubie couldn't wait to decorate (notice the apron this time)...

Hmmm, one eye and piles of sprinkles...

Two eyes this time, at least...

This one seems to be missing an eye and an arm - I wonder how that happened?...

Oh well, no biggie, she can just put another eye on and good as new...

Somehow this cookie sheet of gingerbread men look "special."

Christmas Card

I used some of these on our Christmas card this year...

Lipstick

Today, Rubie was running around putting "imaginary" lipstick on us. I got Sleeping Beauty lipstick, and daddy got Spiderman lipstick. He was so lucky...
