Halloween 2008

Halloween is just the best holiday. So fun for kids. Here she is looking at the candy we had to pass out to kids...

Here are Rubie and Sierra waiting to go trick or treating (obviously not interested in taking pictures, mean mommies)...

Showing us their tails...

Here is Rubie showing Sierra the owie she got earlier. I love how concerned Sierra is - kids crack me up...

This is the house that Sierra started taking candy out of her pumpkin to show the lady what she already had. Apparently, she did not want any duplicates. She kept telling the lady no...

These are the Teddy Grahams that Ramon tried to offer Rubie when we got home. ummmm, seriously? She was having no part of that...

The good stuff (none of that graham cracker crap)...

The Magazine Is Out

The November/December issue of Adoptive Families Magazine is out!

First Jack-O-Lantern

Tonight, Rubie helped to carve her first pumpkin. She was so excited! Let's start with the shot of the feet (I love me some baby feet)...

She was so excited to see what was inside...

Then, she got her first look...

This was her reaction...

When we told her that she needed to clean out the seeds, she had this reaction...

She tried to yell at the seeds and say, "Get out seeds!" It didn't work...

She thought about it...

She tried it, and decided not to do it again...

When we lit the candle for the inside, she sang the happy birthday song...

Here is the final result. When I asked her what she should say to daddy for doing all that hard work for her, she said, "Can I have cake?"

I think she has her celebrations mixed up.

My Daddy Does My Hair

1 day back to work and the hair styles have already started...

Apparently, Rubie said she didn't want him to use a brush, SO.HE.DIDN'T.

I feel the same way, Rubie.

Just a side note...that is indeed a pajama top that Rubie has been wearing all day. She wore it to bed last night, and I liked the way it looked with her jeans, so she wore it all day, too (who wins mom of the year, huh?).

End of Vacation

I have really enjoyed being home with Rubie this month. Unfortunately, I go back to work on Friday (sniff). The good news is that Ramon will be home with her and they will spend some time together. The bad news is that daddy will be doing her hair everyday (expect some pictures to follow)...

I have no idea what she is doing here...

Reading Glasses

I was reading a book the other day, when Rubie asked me to stop and read her a story. I had my glasses on, so she had to run and get her "glasses" too...

Here, she put her cell phone right next to mine (her phone is about as advanced as mine)...

Rubie the Grouchy Pants

It must be really annoying to have your picture taken when you are grouchy. Wait, I do know what that feels like - thanks dad. Here is little miss grouchy pants...

I do not care how many M&Ms you are offering, I'm not smiling...

3 M&Ms?

Allie, Ainsley, and the Potter Twins

I was lucky enough to get to take pictures of the "newly arrived" Allie today. She is absolutely beautiful and it was a lot of fun.

And of course, the Potter twins (Allie's cousins) came along too...

Here is Allie with big sister Ainsley...

Carrie came over too, and helped out a lot (and got puked on)...

This photo was taken before the puke incident.

Moon at the Beach

On the way to the airport, we stopped at the beach for a while. We told Catie that we were going to the ocean (because she did not want to go to the beach), and when we got there, she said, "Hey, they have a beach at this ocean." The girls had a great time collecting shells and running from waves...

Did you know you can see the moon at the beach....I mean ocean?

There were actually two moons at this particular beach, but I didn't have permission from the other moon's mom to put a picture of her moon here.
